FAQ

Evan typically creates a preliminary design draft in the morning on the day of your appointment, incorporating all of the information and ideas you have shared with us during the consultation process.

To ensure the design closely aligns with your expectations, we kindly request that you prioritize the most important aspects of your project and communicate them to us clearly.

On the day of the appointment, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on and finalize the design with Evan, as this is the most efficient approach. Additionally, Evan often employs freehand geometry to ensure optimal flow with the contours of your body.

Large projects such as arm sleeves require 7-10 sessions (in most cases 7-8). Evan's style is very different and a lot of factors may have an impact on the total amount of sessions.

The total amount of sessions may depend on:

  • how much of your skin you want to get tattooed, that is to say, how open or busy you want the design to be;

  • how complex you want the objects and geometry to be;

  • the sizes of your arm, leg, back, etc.;

  • the type and the condition of your skin;

  • and other factors not listed here.

Please, keep in mind, that the type of work Evan does is exceedingly artistic. Therefore, we cannot guarantee an exact amount of sessions your project will take upfront. Each tattoo is a unique and dynamic creative process that may evolve over time as Evan gains more experience and new ideas arise.

Getting a tattoo can be an exciting and nerve-wracking experience. To ensure that the process runs smoothly, there are a few things that you can do to prepare for your appointment. Here are some tips to make your tattoo experience as comfortable and successful as possible.

  • No friends or relatives during the appointment

It's important to note that Evan prefers that his clients come to the appointment alone. This is because having other people around can be a distraction and may affect Evan’s creative process.

  • Avoid alcohol consumption

It's crucial to avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Drinking alcohol can thin your blood and cause excessive bleeding, which can make the tattoo process more difficult and hinder the healing process.

  • Get plenty of rest and eat well

Getting a good night's sleep and eating a healthy meal before your appointment can help prevent low blood sugar issues. This can make the tattoo experience more comfortable and help you feel more relaxed during the process.

  • Shave and moisturize the skin

It's important to shave the area that you want to get tattooed at least seven days before your appointment. This gives the skin time to heal and prevents any irritation or inflammation that could affect the tattoo process. After shaving, moisturize the skin with a lotion a few times a day to keep it soft and healthy. This is the most important step.

  • Stay hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is essential in the days leading up to your appointment. Staying hydrated can help keep your skin healthy and plump, which is crucial for achieving the best possible results. It's recommended to drink a gallon of water per day in the three days leading up to your appointment.

  • Dress comfortably

It's important to wear comfortable clothes to your appointment. Choose loose-fitting clothing that won't rub against the tattoo area and cause irritation. Bringing a sweatshirt is a great idea in case you feel cold during the process so you can maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the appointment. If you're getting a tattoo on your upper arm or leg, consider wearing a tank top or shorts to make the process more comfortable. If possible, wear black, grey, or white clothing.

By following these tips, you can prepare yourself for a successful and comfortable tattoo experience. Remember to communicate with your tattoo artist if you have any concerns or questions before or during the process. With proper preparation and communication, you can achieve the tattoo of your dreams.
